My Sunday Evening Pamper Routine

By Char Shields - March 11, 2018

Sundays: lazy days for some, work days for others. However, you can't beat a good Sunday evening pamper sesh and for me, this is exactly what my Sunday evenings always consist of.

At the moment I am living off a very small student budget so I'm not able to afford high end or expensive brands. But, I have managed to find some really great skincare products that are affordable.

I start off my pamper routine by applying the 'Roots' hair treatment from Lush to my scalp and roots. My friend got me this for my birthday and I highly recommend this stuff if you have thin and flat hair like me. I leave this on for about 15-20 minutes.

Next, I remove any makeup I have on with the 'Simply Pure' micellar water from Superdrug. Most makeup wipes and micellar waters that I've tried in the past have given me allergic reactions. This one is very gentle on my skin and is tough on removing makeup.

After the 20 minutes are up, I get in the shower. As you can see, I buy the majority of my stuff from Superdrug. I have recommended the 'Pro Vitamin' shampoos and conditioners in a previous post because they leave your hair feeling AMAZING. Also, I would usually use shower gel from Superdrug as well but I'm still getting through all the Lynx I got for Christmas.

Afterwards, I wash my teeth and then clean my face with an exfoliating cream wash from Superdrug's 'Tea Tree' range and a cleanser from their 'Naturally Radiant' range. This cleanser has really helped with toning my red and blotchy skin. Again, I've found it hard to find products which don't irritate my skin but these work wonders and are cruelty free and vegan.

I then use this eye cream from Superdrug. For many reasons, I have very tired looking eyes but they look so much brighter since I started using this.

I then use this moisturiser that was prescribed to me by my GP when I first started suffering from dry skin and eczema rashes. During the week I usually use a lighter moisturiser (by, you guessed it, Superdrug!) unless my skin is feeling particularly bad.

I finish off my skincare routine by using these moisturisers on my arms, legs and hands.

After I've taken care of my skin, I brush through my hair with a tangle teaser and apply some hair growth treatment by Lee Stafford. This adds moisture to the hair and helps it grow.

Next, I spray 10-12 pumps of this thickening spray by Alberto Balsam to my roots. I actually found this from Poundland and I thought I would give it a try. It smells amazing and I can't say that it's made a huge amount of difference but it's definitely good for the price.

Finally, I apply this 'R&B' hair moisturiser from Lush to the middle and end parts of my hair. Honestly, I swear by this stuff. It's a little on the pricier side but, like most Lush products, it's very good value for money. It lasts ages because you only need to use a very small amount at a time. Sadly, I am now running out of it (I've had this pot for almost a year) so I'm rationing it until I next get money.

Afterwards, I like to paint my nails. Above are some of my favourite colours, as you can see I love Barry M's nail polish. I then like to read, watch Netflix or catch up on any uni work that I've left to the last minute.

That's it for my Sunday evening pamper routine, thanks for reading!

Until the next time,

Char.
